Amritsar:  Border Security Force (BSF) shot and killed a suspected Pakistani intruder along the international border in the Amritsar district of Punjab. The intruder had crossed into Indian territory under the cover of night and fog. When BSF personnel noticed suspicious activity, they were compelled to open fire. So far, there has been no request.

So far, there has been no request from Pakistan to retrieve the body.

According to a BSF spokesperson, the incident occurred near the border village of Mahawa in Amritsar. At the time, BSF personnel were patrolling near the fencing along the international border. During the patrol, some soldiers observed unusual behavior and became alert.

When they attempted to stop the intruder by calling out to him, he initially tried to hide and then began to approach the fencing slowly. Recognizing the potential threat, the soldiers fired at him, resulting in his death. Following the incident, the BSF launched a search operation in the area to ensure that no suspicious objects had been planted by the intruder.

The body has been recovered, and information regarding the incident has been relayed to the police. BSF officials stated that their personnel remain vigilant to prevent such occurrences. More than 12 hours have passed since the incident, yet no demand for the body has been made by the Pakistan Rangers.

Currently, the body has been sent for a postmortem examination, and the police have been instructed to take appropriate action.
