Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav has sacked a total of 52 policemen 2 days ago. Out of these, 8 policemen are from Ludhiana Rural and Khanna. These policemen have been sacked by DGP Yadav for misconduct under disciplinary action.
Criminal cases are going on against three of them, while the rest of the policemen have been sacked for being absent for a long time. After this action of the department, now the police personnel are starting to get serious about duty.
Inspector Kuldeep Singh of Ludhiana was sacked after being found guilty in a corruption case. Head Constable Anil Kumar, who is currently facing trial in a drug smuggling case, was absent from duty for a long time.
Constable Inderjit Singh and Constable Vikas, who were absent without leave, have also been sacked, while Vikas is facing trial in a drug smuggling case.
Three constables of Ludhiana rural – Gurpreet Singh, Iqbal Singh and Gurinder Singh – were dismissed for prolonged absence from duty. According to police sources, Gurpreet Singh and Iqbal Singh have been living abroad for some time, while Gurinder Singh has been dismissed due to drug addiction.
Gurpreet Singh, who joined the force in 2016, had gone abroad about a year ago. Iqbal Singh, who joined the force in 2011, had gone abroad about one and a half years ago. Gurinder Singh, who got the job under the family compensation scheme after his father’s demise in 2019, was absent due to drug-related issues.
