Abohar: A dowry incident came up in the light where a girl was beaten up by her husband and in laws over dowry in Ferozepur. When her mother intervene to save her daughter, she was also beaten up.
Both mother and daughter has been admitted to the civil hospital for treatment.
Kajal, the wife of Sonu Singh, who is undergoing treatment, said that her family had married her to her cousin about three years ago, but after marriage, they started harassing her for dowry. Panchayats were also held several times regarding this, but they did not stop their actions.
Kajal said that her mother has installed AC in her house. Regarding this, her in-laws were also demanding that AC be installed for them too. She informed her mother about the situation
On which, day before yesterday, her mother came to Ferozepur to meet her, where her mother and mother-in-law had an argument over something. After which her husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law beat me badly. When my mother came to rescue me, the in-laws beat her even worse and threw both of them out of the house.
