Punjab: A gold chain was snatched from a woman’s neck in a crowded marketplace in the Doraha area of Khanna. People caught a robber who ran away and beat him up. A video of this incident has also surfaced.
However, two accomplices of the robber fled from the spot. After the information, the police reached the spot and took the accused into custody. On the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case against three accused.
The woman had come to the market with her mother-in-law.
According to the information, Simran Kaur, resident of ward number 3 of Doraha, had come to the market with her mother-in-law riding on a scooty. Simran was talking on the phone after stopping the scooter near Beant Singh Chowk. Meanwhile a robber came from the front. As soon as he came, he broke the gold chain worn by Simran around her neck and kicked the scooter and made it fall.
As soon as the robber started running away, the people present there caught him. His two companions fled on the bike. Simran Kaur got injured in this incident. His arm was fractured and he was admitted to a private hospital in Doraha.
Robbers identified
SHO of Doraha police station, Rohit Kumar said that the caught robber has been identified as Shamshad Mohammad, resident of Ikolaha. His two associates Manjeevan Singh and Surinder Singh are absconding. Both are being searched.
