A sudden fire broke out in a scrap warehouse in Mohalla Shahriyan area of the city this morning.

Kapurthala : A sudden fire broke out in a scrap warehouse in Mohalla Shahriyan area of the city this morning, due to which a loss of lakhs of rupees is estimated. After receiving the information about the fire, the fire brigade team reached the spot and carried out rescue operations and brought the fire under control within 2 hours. Fire officer Ravinder Kumar said that the fire has been brought under control.

At present, the cause of the fire has not been ascertained. According to information received, a fire suddenly broke out in the scrap warehouse this morning at around half past seven. Seeing this, people informed the owner of the warehouse, Gaurav Nahar (Goldie) and the fire brigade over the phone. After which the team of Fire Officer Ravinder Kumar and Gurpreet Singh and Surinder Kumar reached the spot and started rescue operations with 3 fire engines to control the fire. It took about 2 hours to control the terrible fire in the scrap warehouse.

According to Goldie, the owner of the warehouse, when he woke up at 4 am, everything was fine, but at around 7.30 am, people told him that the warehouse was on fire. He reached the spot along with the fire brigade team and tried to control the fire. He also said that goods worth lakhs of rupees in his warehouse were burnt to ashes. At present, the cause of the fire has not been ascertained. And no casualties have been reported.
