Kartarpur : A massive accident involving a trolley and an oil tanker took place late night in Kartarpur of Jalandhar district. All these people were coming from Anandpur Sahib.
The trolley was parked at the time and was hit by an oil tanker coming from behind, due to which about 8-10 people were injured and one died on the spot. All these people were coming from Anandpur Sahib after visiting and all these people are residents of Amritsar district and were going back to their village. At present, the tanker driver has been arrested on the spot and handed over to the police.
Giving more information about this, the victim Angrez Singh said that, “We are residents of Amritsar district and we all were coming after visiting Anandpur Sahib. As soon as we reached near Kartarpur, we stopped the trolley at a barrier and a speeding truck came from behind and hit us due to which 8-10 of our people got injured and one died on the spot. The deceased has been identified as Dilraj Singh. The truck driver is handed over to the police.
Investigating officer ASI Narendra Singh, who reached the spot, told that an accident has happened in the area of Kartarpur. In which about 8 to 10 people were injured and one died on the spot. The truck driver has been arrested from the spot and has been identified as Virendra Kumar, a resident of village Susthi Pind.
