Punjabi youth dies on Ukraine border

He went to Russia on a tourist visa, and his family alleges forced recruitment in the army

Amritsar: A youth named Tejpal from Amritsar, Punjab, died on the Ukrainian border. He went to Russia from India on January 12 on a tourist visa.

Tejpal left behind his wife and two children. Deceased Tejpal’s daughter is 3 years old, and he has a 6-year-old son.

According to Tejpal’s family, their son was forcibly recruited into the army in Russia. According to the family, on March 3, they got a call from their son that he was being sent to the border. The family demands from the government that Tejpal’s body be brought to India.

His wife Parvinder Kaur said that Tejpal went to Thailand from India on December 20. After that, he went to Moscow, Russia, on January 12.

Some friends of Tejpal forced him to join the army in Russia. He went on a tourist visa at the insistence of his friends.

The family did not want to send Tejpal abroad, but Tejpal was adamant on going abroad. The last conversation was on March 3. The wife said that we demand from the government that if Tejpal’s dead body is abroad, then it should be sent to India.
