Murder of delivery boy in Ludhiana: miscreants attack on head, dies in hospital

Ludhiana: A Zomato delivery boy was murdered in Ludhiana, Punjab. The incident happened two days ago. It is being told that on the night of July 4, when the delivery boy of Zomato Company was going to make the delivery, some miscreants stopped him on the way, snatched his bike, and then started looting.

Resisting the miscreants, the delivery boy scuffled with the miscreants. During this scuffle, the miscreants attacked him on the head with a sharp weapon, due to which he fell on the road bleeding and became half dead.

People near by picked him up and took him to the civil hospital. CCTV cameras installed around the spot are also being scanned.

Zomato’s delivery boy was admitted to the Civil Hospital in Ludhiana. His name is being told as Rajesh Kumar; he lives near Aarti Chowk. The incident is being told of Tibba Road in Ludhiana, which happened around 1 o’clock in the night. His condition was so critical that he died today.

After the incident, there is an among the delivery boys of companies like Zomato and Swiggy. They say that giving delivery at night in Ludhiana is not free from danger. Often in deserted areas, miscreants commit crimes like robbery and snatching. They have demanded from the Police Commissioner to increase patrolling in the city at night.

SHO Bhagatveer of Thana Tibba, who is investigating the case, said that the incident took place between 12 and 1 o’clock on the night of July 4. They feel it was an accident. There are also deep injury marks on the head. Still, the police are investigating the matter. Appropriate action will be taken after the investigation.

SHO Bhagatveer said that the case has been handed over to Thanedaar Hardayal Singh to investigate the entire incident thoroughly. At first glance, the case seems to be an accident; if it is a case of robbery, then we are also investigating it. Hardayal Singh said that the police have currently registered an accident case based on the statements of his wife. Further investigation is underway.
