Ludhiana:
Aaditya Dachalwal, a 2016 batch IAS officer took over the reins as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation (MC) Ludhiana on Monday.
Soon after assuming the charge at MC Zone D office in Sarabha Nagar, newly appointed MC Commissioner Dachalwal conducted a meeting with the officials of various branches of MC and directed them to fix ‘100-day targets’ to improve sanitation, delivery of public services, recovery of dues etc.
Previously posted as Commissioner in Patiala Municipal Corporation, Dachalwal said that he has also served as Additional Commissioner in MC Ludhiana in the past, so he is aware of the major issues concerning the city.
Dachalwal reiterated the commitment of Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann led state government for overall development with transparency and efficiency. He stated that solid waste management, recovery of dues, improved and hassle-free public services, expediting development works, Buddha nullah rejuvenation, 24×7 canal based water supply project are among the priority sectors and rigorous efforts would be made to improve the conditions at ground level.
Meanwhile Dachalwal appealed to the residents to support the authorities in keeping the city clean and improving solid waste management by handing over segregated dry and wet waste to the garbage collectors. He further appealed to the residents to pay their taxes in time as the collected funds are used for providing basic amenities to the residents and for taking up development works in the city.
Earlier MC Commissioner Dachalwal was welcomed by senior officials of civic body including Additional Commissioner Paramdeep Singh, Joint Commissioners Inderpal and Chetan Bunger, Assistant Commissioners Neeraj Jain, Jasdev Singh Sekhon and Gurpal Singh, Superintending Engineers (SE) Ravinder Garg, Sanjay Kanwar, Ranjit Singh, Parveen Singla among others.
MC Employees union- Municipal Employees Sangharsh Committee led by Chairman Ashwani Sahota also welcomed Commissioner Dachalwal.
