AAP’s Senior Leader Sunny Alhuwalia targets Akali Dal of misusing Gurudwaras and Punjab’s resources

Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Sunny Alhuwalia launched a sharp attack on the Shiromani Akali Dal, accusing the party of misusing religious institutions and public resources during its tenure.

Amritsar, June 9: Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Sunny Alhuwalia launched a sharp attack on the Shiromani Akali Dal, accusing the party of misusing religious institutions and public resources during its tenure.

Ahluwalia questioned the Akali Dal directly, asking why, during their rallies, Langar(community meals) used to come directly from Gurudwaras. He further alleged that Akali Leaders had permanent rooms in Gurudwaras for their security teams whenever they visited any place.

Referring to recent revelations made by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann regarding the misuse of the SGPC, Ahluwalia said, “Now that CM Bhagwant Mann has exposed the misuse of SGPC, the Akali Dal is feeling uncomfortable.”

He drew a sharp contrast between the current AAP government and the previous Akali regime, stating, “while our government has brought water to the farmers’ fields, during the Akali Dal government, all the water went to their own fields.”

Highlighting development initiatives under AAP, Ahluwalia said, “We build hotels for the public, and purchased thermal plants in the interest of Punjab, whereas the Akali government built lavish properties like ‘Sukh Villa’ for themselves.”

On the issue of drug menace in Punjab, Alhuwalia said, “Today, Akali leaders pretend to be concerned about drugs in Punjab, but it was their party that played a key role in spreading the drug network. Every kind of Mafia in Punjab was brought in by the Akali Dal, and we are actively working to eliminate all of them.”

Ahluwalia’s statement adds to the ongoing political tensions between AAP and Akali Dal as both parties continue to exchange sharp allegations over governance, religion, and Punjab’s future.
