Jalandhar: The ruling Aam Aadmi Party of the state has suffered a crushing defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. The party, which contested on all seats with a mission of 13-0, including 5 ministers and 3 MLAs, could win only 3 seats. Whereas, 4 ministers of the party have suffered a crushing defeat.

Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer is prominent among the winners. He has won from Sangrur Lok Sabha. At the same time, Raj Kumar Chabbewal managed to win the election from Hoshiarpur. He had left Congress and joined AAP just before the elections.

Along with this, Malvinder Singh Kang has managed to win the election from Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha.

Going by the poll outcome, the people of the state seem to have shown their disappointment with the AAP, which is getting just 3 out of 13 parliamentary Lok Sabha seats. The AAP’s arch rival in the state, the Congress, is set to bag 7 seats.

AAP faltered because they “over-promised and under-delivered”

The government had given a guarantee at the time of elections that every woman will be given one thousand rupees every month, but till now the government has not been able to fulfill this promise. All the opposition parties were raising this issue prominently in the elections.

Finally CM Bhagwant Mann had to say that he will fulfill the guarantee of 1100 rupees instead of one thousand rupees to women immediately after the elections. Due to this, the party suffered losses from villages to cities. Whereas, out of 2.14 lakh voters in Punjab, 1.4 lakh voters were directly women.

“Over-reaction” in the Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh case

People were a little angry when a case was registered against “Waris Punjab De” chief Amritpal Singh, but when Amritpal Singh was sent to Dibrugarh jail outside Punjab, people became more agressive.

Due to this, the sectarian people separated from the party. Similarly, nothing has happened in the sacrilege case till now. Whereas, AAP had made many big promises before forming the government.
