A young man died after being hit by a tractor-trolley on Kapurthala Road in Jalandhar, Punjab. The accused tractor-trolley driver fled from the spot after the incident. Police have sent the body for post-mortem. Police of Thana Division Number-2 has started investigating the case.
Tarun Kumar, a resident of Kila Mohalla, was riding on his Activa at the time of the incident. Police Station Division Number 2 has registered a case against the unknown tractor-trolley driver on the statement of Manish Kumar, a resident of Kila Mohalla, brother of the deceased.
In the complaint given to the police, Manish Kumar said that his brother Tarun Kumar was going near Kapurthala Chowk on Activa. Meanwhile, the person driving the tractor-trolley negligently hit his brother and fled.
His brother died on the spot and the Activa was also badly damaged. As soon as the incident information was received, the police party reached the spot.
The police first got the dead body and the vehicle damaged in the accident on the side. Police are investigating the CCTV cameras installed at the incident spot to identify the accused.
