Adampur: Scrap dealer hits jackpot as man wins Rs 2.5 crore lottery

Adampur: An old scrap dealer in Adampur town of Jalandhar district in Punjab has won a lottery of about Rs. 2.5 crore. Adampur resident Pritam Lal Jaggi had bought a Rakhi Bumper ticket whose winning amount was Rs. 2.5 crore. Yesterday he read in the newspaper that he is the winner of this year’s Rakhi.

Adampur resident Pritam Lal Jaggi had bought a Rakhi Bumper ticket whose winning amount was Rs. 2.5 crore. Yesterday he read in the newspaper that he is the winner of this year’s Rakhi Bumper Lottery. The winner works as a scrap dealer and runs his household from that.

Adampur resident Pritam Singh alias Pritam Kabaria said, “I bought the said lottery last week from a person named Sevak who had come from the city. I bought this ticket in my name and the name of my wife Anita Jaggi alias Babli. I get to know about this from newspaper.”

Pritam said that he did not believe at first that he had won the lottery, but when he got a call from the lottery selling agency, he believed that lady luck has blessed him. Pritam also added that he will donate 25 percent of the lottery money for social work.

Pritam Kabaria said that he has been working as a scrap dealer for the last several years. Despite working as a scrap dealer for so many years, he has not been able to build either a house or a shop. Expressing his love for buying lotteries, Pritam further said that he has been buying lottery tickets for the last 50 years. When he bought the first ticket, the rate of the lottery ticket was Rs 1 and today after 50 years, he won the lottery and will be able to fulfill all of his dreams.
