Amritsar : Congress has fielded former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi from Jalandhar for the Lok Sabha elections. After getting the ticket, Channi came to pay obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib. Congress leaders also welcomed him on this occasion. He bowed down in the Gurudwara and prayed for the good of all.
Addressing on this, Channi said that the Congress party has given him an opportunity to serve the people in the Jalandhar seat from Doab. That is why they have come to the Guru’s house to thank God. He said that he will live up to the hope of the people of Jalandhar.
He said that the people make him win from Chamkaur Sahib and sent him to the Vidhan Sabha and today that area is seen as number one in Punjab. He said that even today the people of Chamkaur Sahib love him very much.
Channi said that the same way the corridor has been built in Amritsar, the same has been built at Chamkaur Sahib. Even in Chamkaur Sahib, a wonder has been built in the memory of the martyrs. Good colleges are being built there for education.
He said that he is going to Jalandhar with the same things. He said “Jalandhar is where we live and our elders are living in Jalandhar. Today I am again going to the land of my elders and may that land bless me with love so that I can serve them”.
