After Meerut, an unidentified body has been recovered from a blue drum in the Sherpur area of Ludhiana. The body was wrapped in a plastic bag. The person’s legs and neck were found tied with a rope. Locals informed the police after a foul smell came from the area. According to Kulwant Kaur, SHO of Police Station Division No. 6, the deceased appears to be a migrant. The body has been sent to the morgue of the Civil Hospital for postmortem.
SHO Kulwant Kaur said that talks are also underway with several drum companies. Many migrants live around the incident site. Due to which they are also being questioned. The deceased’s face looks like a migrant’s. As of now, no marks have been found on his body. The condition of the body is definitely bad. It will be known after the postmortem under what circumstances the person died.
Police have made a list of drug companies
There are about 42 companies in Ludhiana city, where drums are made. The police have also prepared a list of these drum companies as investigation will be carried out. The drum recovered by the police is brand new. It is suspected that the murder was done with complete planning. The drum was purchased fresh before the murder.
Police are investigating the area
Currently, the police have started investigating the area up to 5 km from the incident site. CCTV footage etc. are being examined. The police are also taking the help of Safe City cameras. Along with this, the cameras of the railway station and bus stand are also being examined. The police are tracking the route map from Ladowal Toll Plaza to Sherpur. The police are also investigating the number of some suspicious vehicles.
