After quitting SAD Dimpy Dhillon to join AAP today, likely to contest upcoming by-poll

Gidderbaha: Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon, constituency in-charge of Gidderbaha in Punjab and close aide of Sukhbir Badal, who said goodbye to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) will join Aam Aadmi Party today. CM Bhagwant Mann himself is going to Gidderbaha to get him to join the party.

A program has been organized there for this. It is expected that the party can declare him as its candidate for the upcoming assembly by-elections. At the same time, security arrangements have been strengthened due to the CM’s visit to Gidderbaha.

While leaving SAD, Dimpy Dhillon had made it clear that he is leaving the party because of Manpreet Badal. He alleged that even though Manpreet Badal is in the BJP, but has very good relationship with Sukhbir Badal.

He further added that in his situation,  neither was he talking about contesting elections from there, nor was he declared a candidate from Gidderbaha. he even alleged that nepotism overshadowed his friendship with Sukhbir Badal. At the same time, he said that the current government’s term still has two years left. In such a situation, he could get his area developed. Therefore, he has decided to join the party.

However, Sukhbir Badal had told party workers in a meeting that he was saddened by Dimpy leaving the party. He had asked Dimpy to come back. He has given Dimpy 10 days to come back to the party. He also said that he will declare him as a candidate if Dimpy comes back to SAD.
