After scrutiny of nomination papers, 15 nominations were found valid: Sibin C

He further informed that nomination papers can be withdrawn till June 5

After scrutiny of nomination papers for the 64-Ludhiana West seat of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, the nomination papers of a total of 15 candidates have been found valid. Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C said that a total of 22 candidates had filed nominations for the 64-Ludhiana West seat from May 26 to June 2 and after scrutiny of the nomination papers today, the nomination papers of a total of 15 candidates have been found valid.

The names of these 15 candidates are – Baldev Raj Katna (Independent), Bharat Bhushan (Indian National Congress), Advocate Parupkar Singh Ghuman (Shiromani Akali Dal), Sanjeev Arora (Aam Aadmi Party), Paramjit Singh Bharaj (Independent), Albert Dua (Independent), Jatinder Kumar Sharma (National Lok Sewa Party), Kamal Pawar (Independent), Rajesh Sharma (Independent), Neetu (Independent), Jeevan Gupta (Bharatiya Janata Party), Navneet Kumar (Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar), Renu (Independent), Pawandeep Singh (Independent) and Gurdeep Singh Kahlo (Independent).

He further informed that nomination papers can be withdrawn till June 5, after which it will be clear how many candidates are contesting the by-election for the Ludhiana West seat.
