Chandigarh: Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has given big statement on the MSP and how farming is becoming a losing business. In recent remarks, posted by him he said that Agriculture is becoming nonprofitable. He added that Regardless of the increase in the States overall production, as input prices of fertilizers, oil and other essentials are becoming prohibitive, the minimum support price increases marginally on an annual basis.

Recently, former CM Captain Amarinder Singh shared his remarks on Indo-Canadian ties, which are experiencing their most difficult time. The tension sparked during Trudeau’s visit to India has now touched rock bottom.
On Agriculture becoming unprofitable, Captain further said that the purchase by the FCI is meant for food security, and an affordable price that the under-privileged of the country can afford. He added that If the MSP goes up so does the consumer price to the millions of our poor. “While the Punjab farmer who sweats his guts out to produce what India needs, wants more for his crop, so does the Union Government wants to rationalize what it must pay. India would need substantial financial resources to guarantee an MSP”, says Captain.
He also added that the best option to this is Industrialisation and its necessary that there should be the right environment in Punjab to draw in the industry.
