AGTF, SAS Nagar Police joint op: Module handled by Manjeet Mahal busted; 3 held with pistols, cartridges

It was revealed that they were planning to execute the sensational crimes in the state on the directions of their handler Manjit Mahal.

Chandigarh: In a major breakthrough, the Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) in a joint operation with SAS Nagar police busted an organised criminal module. Police busted the module which was handled by gangster Manjeet Mahal. For unversed, Manjeet Mahal is currently lodged in Tihar jail. The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav through a post on X.

Police busted the module handled by Manjeet Mahal by arresting three operatives of the module. As per police, the arrested accused have a criminal history. A large number of cases have been registered against the arrested accused in Haryana and Delhi. 
Police added that after preliminary interrogation of the accused. It was revealed that they were planning to execute the sensational crimes in the state on the directions of their handler Manjit Mahal.
During this operation, Police also recovered arms and ammunition. as per DGP Yadav, Police have recovered two pistols of .30 calibre along with total 18 cartridges.
DGP Yadav assured that Punjab police is committed in dismantling organized crime and ensuring public safety.
