Even before the announcement of by-elections in Ludhiana, sporadic incidents of clashes between party workers have started coming to the fore. At around 10 pm, Aam Aadmi Party and Congress workers clashed in BRS Nagar. The matter escalated so much that an AAP worker was attacked on the head with a sharp weapon.
His head was torn. The injured AAP worker immediately informed the police of Sarabha Nagar police station and candidate Sanjeev Arora about the incident.
Attack while verifying votes
Giving information, Aam Aadmi Party’s Minority Deputy Chief Anish Khan said that he is a resident of BRS Nagar. We were verifying the votes to see whose vote was made or whose vote was cancelled because many people’s votes were cancelled in the Municipal elections. We were collecting data of people’s votes. Then some people started arguing there on the pretext of a car hitting another car.
Anish said that I also told him that if the vehicle is damaged from anywhere, he will get it fixed, but then some people attacked him on the head with a sharp weapon. The attackers were allegedly Congress workers. There were 8 to 9 people who attacked the AAP leader. Our leader, Sanjeev Arora has told us not to comment by taking anyone’s name, said the injured workers.
Today, after getting a medical done at the Civil Hospital, the police will be informed. Appropriate action will be taken against the attackers.
