Amritsar: All India Sikh Students Federation has demanded religious punishment against former Punjab Chief Ministers Captain Amarinder Singh, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, who are among 17 Congress and BJP leaders for bowing down before Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim for votes.

In a letter addressed to the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad, the patron of the All India Sikh Students Federation, has demanded that 17 political leaders be summoned and given religious punishment.

Some of the other names in the list include former MP Dr. Amar Singh, Kushaldeep Singh Kikki Dhillon, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu, Gurpreet Singh Kangar, and others. Most of the names in the list are from the Congress party.

Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad accuses them of bowing down before Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim for votes, despite the Akal Takht’s directive prohibiting any association with Dera Sacha Sauda. He claims their actions have harmed Sikh principles and traditions.
