Akali Dal core committee meeting today: Strategy for Assembly by-elections and SGPC election to be made

Apart from political issues, the problems faced by farmers regarding the purchase of paddy in the mandis will also be discussed in the meeting.

Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) is going to have a core committee meeting today. The meeting will formulate a strategy for the by-elections to be held on November 13 on 4 assembly seats in Punjab and the election for the post of head of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). The meeting will be held at the headquarters in Chandigarh. The meeting will be led by acting president Balwinder Singh Bhundar. Apart from political issues, the problems faced by farmers regarding the purchase of paddy in the mandis will also be discussed in the meeting.

The by-elections to be held on four assembly seats are also important for the SAD. Gidderbaha seat is included in these four seats, which has been the stronghold of the party. Since the formation of this seat, the party has won the elections here most of the time. Prakash Singh Badal has won this seat many times.

At the same time, Sukhbir Singh Badal is also continuously active on this seat since Dimpy Dhillon joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Harsimrat Kaur Badal herself is handling the constituency. At the same time, Hira Singh Gabdia has been given the responsibility of campaign in-charge of Barnala Urban and Iqbal Singh Jhundha Barnala Rural.

Gidderbaha’s seat is Badal’s old seat. Only Congress has won it 5 times. Apart from this, Akali Dal has won from here. At the same time, the Badal family itself is now handling the command of this constituency. Earlier, SAD’s parliamentary board visited all the seats except the Gidderbaha seat.
