Chandigarh, July 22: The petition of dismissed lady constable Amandeep Kaur, arrested in the disproportionate assets case related to drug smuggling in Bathinda, Punjab, was heard again in the Punjab and Haryana High Court today (22 July). The High Court has again rejected her bail plea.
On Monday, too, the court had rejected her bail plea. After this, Amandeep Kaur filed another application through her lawyers, in which it was said that her side should be heard again. This was accepted by the court, but was rejected today.
Caught with heroin in a Mahindra Thar
Amandeep Kaur came into the limelight when she was arrested on 2 April 2025 in Bathinda with 17.71 grams of heroin from a black Mahindra Thar. She was suspended and dismissed the same day. This case gradually became high-profile. After this, Amandeep argued in the court that she has been framed under a conspiracy.
Although the full order of the court has not been released yet, the rejection of the bail plea is being considered a setback. The public prosecutor says that the entire action has been taken as per the rules. He also presented a copy of the FIR in the court.
