Mohali: Amid Bikram Singh Majithia’s appearance in the court, SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal has been detained by the Punjab Police. Earlier in the day, SAD workers and leaders who left for Mohali were detained on the way. Many leaders were also detained in their houses today morning during the early hours.
Sukhbir Singh Badal who was detained by Police was taken into custody. During this time, Sukhbir Badal had a heated argument with the Punjab Police officials. The police told him that he cannot go towards the court due to security reasons. After which, the Akali workers got angry.
Sukhbir Badal said that the government is taking money for appointing SSP and other officers. He also said that the situation in Punjab has become such that the state government has resorted to bullying. The people of Punjab are such that if they can get 92 seats for AAP, then next time they can also get their deposits forfeited on all their seats.
Seeing the situation deteriorating, a large number of police force and the fire brigade have been deployed around the Mohali court.
Akali Dal leaders from across Punjab have been reaching Mohali to express support for Majithia. Some leaders were detained in their houses during the early hours, while several who were on their way were detained by the Police en route to Mohali.
Let’s tell you that Majithia has filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court calling his arrest illegal. Along with this, a demand has been made to cancel the remand order. The High Court will hear this petition on July 3.
