Chandigarh: Farmers in Punjab today will stage a protest outside the houses of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislators-ministers and BJP leaders. Farmers allege that the purchase of paddy in the markets is not being done properly. On the other hand, the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha will hold a meeting at Chandigarh Kisan Bhavan at 11 am regarding today’s demonstration. A decision will be taken after the meeting whether to continue or postpone the demonstration.
Farmers are worried about the poor and delayed procurement of paddy. Earlier yesterday, farmers had made 25 toll plazas in 14 districts free, which will also remain free today. This demonstration at toll plazas is being conducted under the leadership of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugraha.
Amid the protests by Farmers, the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha will have a meeting with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann tomorrow. The meeting will be held with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann tomorrow at 4 pm. A circular has been issued and an invitation of the same has been sent to farmers.
