Amritsar: The State Special Operation Cell, Amritsar along with BSF and CIA, during a joint operation in Gurdaspur arrested a smuggler was with half kg of heroin.
While giving information in this matter, Inspector Amandeep Singh of State Special Operation Cell Amritsar said that Harmeet Singh, a resident of Ajnala, was in contact with Pakistan smugglers and is active in smuggling heroin on the India-Pakistan border.
He said that information was received that arrested smuggler Harmeet Singh had ordered a large consignment of heroin from the smugglers of Pakistan. Police officer further said that they had received information that Harmeet Singh was supplying drugs to village Dayalbhatti on Ajnala-Ramdas road in a car with his colleagues.
Following which BSF and CIA team jointly during the blockade on Ajnala-Ramdas road arrested Harmeet Singh and recovered half kg heroin. Though Harmeet Singh was arrested but his two companions manged to escape.
