Amritsar DC launches ‘Heritage Street Clean-Up Drive’ near Golden Temple, Issues one-week deadline for action

Amritsar, July 12: An initiative has been started to clean and organize the main road leading to Sri Darbar Sahib in Amritsar. DC Sakshi Sahni herself visited the Heritage Street with her team today. She has given a week’s time to the shopkeepers to remove encroachment and stop using plastic. After that, major action will be taken.

Under the initiative of DC Sakshi Sahni, different roads of the city have been adopted by different officials. Under this, the DC herself has adopted the Heritage Street and is trying for its maintenance and beautification.

DC gave several important instructions to the corporation officials. He asked them to clear the debris lying in the old vegetable market and make a parking space. He ordered to remove the old dustbins near the statues and idols on Heritage Street and install new ones.

Agrasen Mandir Committee has been asked to cooperate in the cleanliness drive. There is a plan to build a fountain or other attractive structure outside Dharam Singh Market. Instructions were given to ensure regular maintenance of the Town Hall garden and continuous functioning of the water ATM.
