The deceased have been identified as Jobandeep Singh (24) and Sukhpreet Kaur. At present, the police have taken possession of the bodies and kept them for postmortem. The accused father has said that he killed both of them as his daughter was in relation with Jobandeep Singh.
The police are investigating the matter. According to the information, Sukhpreet Kaur, a resident of Boparai Baj Singh village in Amritsar, was in a love with Jobandeep Singh (24) of Kakkar village. Jobandeep met Gurdial Singh’s daughter Sukhpreet Kaur. Both of them live nearby. Jobanpreet works as a laborer.
Jobanpreet and Sukhpreet Kaur fell in love. Both ran away from home on Sunday. Gurdial and his family were looking for both of them. On Monday, both went to the court to get married. A relative saw them there in the crowd and informed Sukhpreet’s family.
Sukhpreet’s family members assured them that they will get them married. After getting assurance, both of them returned home. As soon as they entered the house, Gurdial Singh caught both of them and beat them badly. Reportedly, as soon as they entered the house, Gurdial Singh caught both of them and beat them up mercilessly. Gurdial first gave them electric shocks and then cut them with a sharp weapon.
