Amritsar: An NRI going to America has been arrested at Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport in Amritsar, Punjab. This NRI had come to his village in  Gurdaspur and was here for a long time. Today at airport when his luggage was checked before the flight, CISF personnel recovered 15 9 mm bullets from the accused’s bag.

According to the information given by CISF Sub Inspector KS Victor at Amritsar Airport Police Station, the accused has been identified as Amardeep Singh son of Sarabjit Singh, a resident of New Jersey. Amardeep Singh was about to catch a flight from Amritsar Airport to America. According to the complaint, ASI Baljit Singh was checking at the airport yesterday.

The passengers of the flight going to America were being checked. During this when Amandeep’s luggage was checked, 15 bullets of 9 mm were recovered from it. After which, he was immediately arrested.

As per information, Amardeep Singh’s condition deteriorated after his arrest. Following this, he was immediately admitted to the medical college. After he is discharged police will take Amardeep Singh into custody. As per the information, he will be questioned about the possession of bullets.

At present, on the complaint of CISF officials, a case has been registered in the Airport police station under FIR 34 under Arms Act 25/24/ 59A under BNS.
