Amritsar Police seizes 4.5 kg of heroine, smuggler with Pakistani links arrested

The police has achieved a great success in the ongoing campaign against drugs in Punjab. The Amritsar rural police has arrested a smuggler with 4 kg 500 grams of heroin.

Amritsar: The police has achieved a great success in the ongoing campaign against drugs in Punjab. The Amritsar rural police has arrested a smuggler with 4 kg 500 grams of heroin. The market value of this heroin is estimated to be around Rs 30 crore.

Lopoke Police Station had received information that Harpreet Singh of village Shahura was roaming in the area with a large consignment of heroin. The police immediately took action. A team was deployed on the outskirts of the village. From there, Harpreet was caught with heroin.

Investigation has revealed that the accused has links with Pakistani smugglers. He used to smuggle heroin from Pakistan to India. Police is tracing his network.

Along with this, his illegal properties are also being investigated. This action was taken under the ‘War against Drugs’ campaign of the Chief Minister of Punjab. In this, the team led by SP Harinder Singh Gill took action on the instructions of Satinder Singh, DIG Border Range Amritsar and SSP Maninder Singh. Police have registered a case under the NDPS Act.
