Amritsar rural police apprehend 5 along with pistols, 3.97 Kg heroin recovered

Along with this police also recovered total of 3.97 Kg of heroin from the accused arrested. 

Amritsar: In a major breakthrough, Amritsar rural police busted trans-border narco smuggling and arms cartel. The police team in three separate operation apprehended 5 accused along with narcotics and weapons. The information has been shared by Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav.

A police team of Amritsar rural police in three separate operations apprehended 5 accused. Police have also recovered arms and ammunition which includes 3 Glock Pistols and 1 .32 bore pistol. Along with this police also recovered total of 3.97 Kg of heroin from the accused arrested. 
As per police, the arrested persons were in contact with Pakistan-based operatives using drones to smuggle drugs and arms into India.
Police also added that as the investigation continues more arrests are likely in this matter.
DGP Yadav assured that Punjab Police will take stern action against organized crime & illegal weapon smuggling networks and is working to uncover the entire network, following both forward and backward linkages.
