Aam Aadmi Party will announce the Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor in the oath taking ceremony of the councillor at Gurunanak Bhawan tomorrow. But AAP has given a big blow to Congress with that.
Another Congress councillor has joined Aam Aadmi Party. Councillor Mamta Rani of Ward No. 41 has joined AAP. State President and Minister Aman Arora inducted Mamta Rani, senior Congress leaders Balwinder Singh, Mani Ram and Vishal Dhawan into the party.
Now AAP’s mayor will be elected without the voting of MLAs
Let us tell you that till now Aam Aadmi Party was preparing to prove majority by getting the MLAs to vote. There were controversies regarding whether the MLAs have the right to vote in the House or not. AAP poached 4 councillors from Congress
Aam Aadmi Party, which is busy in lobbying to elect the mayor, has caused the most damage to Congress. 41 candidates of Aam Aadmi Party had won in the corporation elections, while 48 members were needed for majority. Aam Aadmi Party poached the maximum number of 4 councillors from Congress.
Among these, three councillors including Mamta Rani are from Atam Nagar constituency. Two independent and one BJP councillor have also been made to join Aam Aadmi Party. As far as the face of the mayor is concerned, it is almost certain that the mayor will be elected from the constituency East and West. The wives of both the MLAs Gurpreet Gogi and Ashok Parashar Pappi lost the elections. Therefore, now the names of Principal Inderjit Kaur and Nidhi Gupta are in discussion for the post of Mayor.
