SHO Amandeep Singh said that the police had taken Jagtar Singh near Attari drain, where more drugs were to be recovered from him. But as soon as the police started questioning him on the spot, he freed himself from the policeman and started running. The police warned him to stop, but when he did not stop, the police fired a bullet, which hit his leg.

Soon after, the police caught the injured Jagtar Singh and took him to Lopoke Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.

Police had already made a big recovery

Amritsar Rural Police arrested Jagtar Singh and Angrez Singh yesterday with a huge amount of drugs and cash. According to the police, both the accused were involved in smuggling of ICE drugs in Punjab and are also connected with international smugglers. The police is investigating this entire network in depth and is trying to find out which smugglers these people were in contact with.

Police keeping a strict eye on the smugglers’ network

The police is now trying to get to the bottom of this matter so that this illegal drug trade can be eradicated from its roots. Officials said that more big revelations can be made in this case and some more arrests can also be made soon. At present, Jagtar Singh has been admitted to the hospital and the police is engaged in further investigation.
