In a well-coordinated operation, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force and Border Range apprehended a drug smuggler. Over 18 Kg of heroin was also recovered from the drug smuggler. The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.

The apprehended drug smuggler has been identified as Hira Singh alias Hira of Village Khaira, PS Gharinda, Amritsar. In the operation police recovered 18.227 Kg of Heroin.
Investigations revealed Hira Singh and his associate Kulwinder Singh alias Kinda of Village Dauke, PS Gharinda, were linked to Pakistan-based drug trafficker Billa.
They were smuggling heroin from across the border and supplying it as per the trafficker’s instructions. Raids are underway to nab Kulwinder Singh, and further investigation is in progress to dismantle the entire network.
DGP Yadav assured that Punjab Police remains relentless in its war against drugs, ensuring a safer and drug-free future for the state.
