ANTF arrest drug smuggler in Ludhiana, Over 1 Kg heroin recovered

The value of the recovered heroin in the international market is estimated to be around Rs 6 crore.

Ludhiana: In a major operation, the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) in Ludhiana, Punjab has arrested a drug smuggler from the Janta Nagar area. 1 kg 20 grams of heroin has been recovered from the arrested drug smuggler. The value of the recovered heroin in the international market is estimated to be around Rs 6 crore.

The arrested drug smuggler has been identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Titu. At present, the police is investigating the matter, and the accused is being questioned about the heroin.

According to ANTF DSP Ajay Kumar, smuggler Gurpreet Singh’s brother Sandeep Singh is already lodged in Ludhiana jail in a drug smuggling case. Sandeep was arrested by the NCB in 2022 with 20 kg of heroin. Investigation revealed that Sandeep Singh had hidden heroin in his house. Gurpreet was slowly taking out and supplying at the behest of Sandeep, who is in jail.

On the information of the informer, ANTF caught Gurpreet red-handed while supplying drugs. The accused has been presented in the court and further action has been initiated. This action is considered a big success for the police against drug trafficking.
