Chandigarh, July 14: The case of assault on Indian Army Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath in Patiala, Punjab has again reached the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The Colonel’s family has again demanded a CBI inquiry in this case.

He alleges that proper action is not being taken in this case. The court has issued notice to the Punjab government and the DGP of Chandigarh Police. The next hearing of the case has been fixed on July 16.

The High Court had handed over the investigation to the Chandigarh Police

According to the information, this matter came to light in the month of March. After this, this matter was also raised in the Punjab Assembly. At the same time, this case reached the Punjab and Haryana High Court. During this time, Colonel Bath’s wife had demanded that this case should be investigated by the CBI or any other agency.

The court had investigated all the facts. After this, the case was handed over to the Chandigarh Police. Also, orders were given to complete the investigation of this case by the month of August. However, about a month ago, the Colonel’s wife also met Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria.

On the night of 13-14 March, an Army Colonel was assaulted in Patiala, but the police did not take any action. After this, when the matter reached the Ministry of Defense and the Army Headquarters, the police filed a by-name FIR 9 days later and suspended 12 policemen.

5 inspectors are also involved in this. After this, the High Court handed over the investigation of the case to the Chandigarh Police. The SIT of Chandigarh Police is investigating this case. The SIT has inspected the crime scene. The scene was recreated. Apart from this, statements have also been taken from the staff of the Dhaba.
