ASI Sanjay Kumar, posted at the Khanna city police station, was arrested red-handed by the Vigilance Department while accepting 8,000 rupees. A case of cheating for 20 lakh rupees in the name of providing a government job was registered at the Khanna City police station.
ASI Sanje Kumar had demanded 10,000 rupees from the accused party to issue a notice, and the matter was settled for 8,000 rupees. After this, the complainant, Amarjeet Singh, reported the matter to the Vigilance Department, alleging that ASI was demanding a bribe.
Based on this, the Vigilance Department set up a trap and arrested ASI Sanjay Kumar while he was accepting 8,000 rupees inside the cabin at the police station.
Case has been lodged against the arrested ASI and further investigation will be done by the vigilance team.
