The competition began on Monday and is taking place across five districts in Punjab, including Ludhiana. Events include athletics, baseball, kickboxing, and lawn tennis, featuring young and experienced athletes. The competition is set to run until November 9 and is being held at Guru Nanak Stadium, the Multipurpose Hall, Government Girls School Gill, and Harvest Lawn Tennis Academy in Jassowal.

Varinder, who came to Ludhiana from Jalandhar, participated in a long jump competition. According to coach Bikramjit Singh, Varinder was on the field when he suffered a heart attack. He completed his event by 3 PM and watched other athletes compete. At approximately 5:30 PM, he suddenly collapsed due to a heart attack.

Athlete coach Sanjeev Sharma, who was also present on the field at that time, stated that Varinder died instantly while observing the other participants. A medical team was nearby and quickly transported him to the hospital, but he was declared dead upon arrival.
