Ludhiana: The CIA-1 team was attacked by drug smugglers at Dhandra Road Mahmoodpura in Ludhiana this morning. A policeman and the brother of a drug dealer have been injured in the cross-firing. The name of the injured policeman is Sandeep. The name of the injured drug smuggler’s brother is Rohit Heera.
A team of CIA-1 went to arrest a man named Manish in a case of drug trafficking. As soon as the police personnel surrounded his house, the family did not open the door. The police personnel jumped from the neighbor’s house and entered the drug dealer’s house. The family members of the drug trafficker attacked the police team. Rajesh, in-charge of CIA-1, also reached the spot as soon as the information about the attack was received.
The police brought the injured drug smuggler’s brother and the injured policeman to the civil hospital, but the doctors advised them to take them to a private hospital. Currently, the policeman Sandeep is admitted to DMC Hospital. Rohit has been admitted to Deep Hospital. Rohit’s brother Manish has earlier cases of drug trafficking.
Giving information, Rohit Hira’s wife Sukhpreet said that policemen in civil uniform came outside their house at half past eight in the morning. He knocked on the door. Her mother-in-law thought that a thief might have come to their house. The policemen told them that they have come to arrest Manish.
They were not wearing uniform, due to which they did not know whether they were actually policemen or not. When the family members did not open the door, some police personnel entered their house by crossing the neighbor’s wall. The policemen pushed her mother-in-law and forced the door open.
Rohit’s wife said that his family argued with the policemen. Meanwhile, the policemen fired two shots which hit her husband Rohit. Currently, the police have also arrested the mother-in-law. The police also have the mobile phones of the family. Rohit’s wife Sukhpreet said that her husband Rohit works in a pharmaceutical company. He does not know in which case the policemen came to arrest Manish. When Manish was beaten with sticks by the policemen, her husband Harish went to rescue him. In this chaos, two bullets hit Rohit in the thigh.
