Former Punjab CM and newly elected MP from Jalandhar Charanjit Singh Channi has expressed anger over the attack on the Spanish couple in Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh. In this regard, Channi immediately spoke to Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu over the phone and demanded action against the accused as soon as possible.
In return, Sukhu also assured Channi that he has ordered the arrest of all the accused involved in it and strict action will be taken against them. Channi speaking on the attack said that through the said attack, an attempt was made to create a rift between the brothers living in Punjab and Himachal.
NRI couple was beaten up in Dalhousie
More than 100 people attacked an NRI Spanish couple from Amritsar, who had gone to Dalhousie in Himachal, over parking. In this incident, the Spanish wife, her husband of Punjab origin and brother-in-law were injured. The condition of the injured husband was so serious that he remained unconscious in the hospital for two days. When he regained consciousness, he came to know about the whole incident.
NRI Kanwaljit Singh’s Spanish wife said that she had gone to Himachal for a trip, where this entire incident took place. The Spanish woman said that they were beaten badly and no one even saved them.
The woman also alleged that she had also made a video of the assault, which the Himachal Police deleted from her mobile phone. The woman told that she was saved by the intervention of the police, but her voice was not heard.
The victim NRI Kanwaljit Singh had said that he has been living in Spain for more than 25 years. The Punjab government had talked about starting employment in Punjab. Due to this he left everything with his family and returned to Punjab to employ the people of Punjab. But little did he know that the situation is still bad. He said that they had no enmity with anyone and had just gone to Himachal for a trip and the people of Himachal attacked them.
