Amritsar: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly condemned the attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal outside Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib. He said that targeting Sukhbir Singh Badal while performing religious service granted by Sri Akal Takht Sahib at this holy place is extremely saddening and immoral.
He mentioned that the attack carried out with a violent nature can also be called an attack on the religious aura of Sri Darbar Sahib. The Shiromani Committee President said that it has been the tradition of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to take notice of any Panthic disobedience and order religious punishment, which is the duty of every Sikh to follow as a humble Sikh.
President SGPC Advocate Dhami also noted that Sukhbir Singh Badal is undertaking religious punishment and attacking Badal is not only an expression of anti-Panth mentality and an inhuman act, but also a direct violation of the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
Advocate Dhami said that this attack on Sukhbir Badal raised big questions about the lax performance of the Punjab government and the police and the law and order situation in Punjab. He appealed to the police administration to fulfill its responsibility and ensure the safety of every Akali leader during religious service.
