Balwant Singh Rajoana out on 3 hour parole, to attend brother’s Antim Ardas

The High Court has granted three hours of parole to Balwant Singh Rajoana.

Ludhiana: Balwant Singh Rajoana, accused in the Beant Singh murder case of former Punjab Chief Minister, has come out of Patiala Jail after getting parole from the Punjab-Haryana High Court. The High Court has granted three hours of parole to Balwant Singh Rajoana.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has given him parole from 11 am to 2 pm. This parole has been given to him to attend the last rites (Antim Ardaas) of his deceased elder brother Kulwant Singh. During this time he will go to his village in Ludhiana. Earlier in 2021, he got one hour of parole to attend his father’s last rites.

Balwant Singh Rajoana’s elder brother Kulwant Singh died on November 4. He died in Canada. After this, his rites were kept in his native village. This program will be held in his ancestral village Rozana Kalan near Ludhiana.

The petition was filed by Rajoana to attend the rites which was approved by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. However, during this time he will go under tight security. After this, he will go back to Patiala jail.

Let us tell you that Balwant Singh Rajoana has been in jail for about 28 years. He has been sentenced to death. He has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against this.
