There is big news for the residents of Chandigarh city. The Municipal Corporation is going to start strict action against those who waste water from today. The Corporation will issue challans to those who waste water in the city from April 7.
According to the information, the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has made a plan for the conservation of drinking water during this summer season, under which the rules for wasting water will be implemented from April 7 today. Heavy fines will be imposed on those who waste water under the rules.
The Municipal Corporation will take action against those who misuse water during the water supply period by watering lawns, washing vehicles and courtyards, overflow from overhead/underground water tanks, leakage from water meter chamber, water wastage due to not installing taps, leakage in the pipeline from ferrule to water meter, leakage from coolers, using water by installing booster pumps directly on the water supply line or for any other reason.
The Commissioner has appealed to the citizens of the city to protect themselves from water wastage and cooperate with the corporation in meeting the demands of the city residents by conserving precious water.
