Big Update in Jalandhar Grenade attack: Police arrest soldier who gave training

The police produced Sukhchain Singh in the court and sought a 10-day remand

A major revelation has come in the Jalandhar grenade attack. An army jawan had trained the accused to handle grenades through a video on Instagram. Police have arrested army jawan Sukhchain Singh, who trained 19-year-old militant Hardik, who hurled a grenade at the house of social media influencer Navdeep Singh alias Roger in Rasoolpur village of Jalandhar on March 16.

The police arrested soldier Sukhchain Singh from the Nowshera sector of Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir. Hardik got a link to take training from the army from Madhya Pradesh. Three mobile phones of soldier Sukhchain Singh, a resident of Mahan Badar village in Sri Muktsar Sahib, have been recovered.
Evidence related to the training was found in a mobile. This training was given through Instagram. The police produced Sukhchain Singh in the court and sought a 10-day remand, saying that they need to question Sukhchain about who he is in contact with and on whose instructions he trained Hardik.

The court has handed over the constable to the police on a 5-day remand. The constable is being questioned by the IB as well as security agencies. Meanwhile, SIT chief SP Sarabjit Rai said that the constable has been taken on remand. At present, information related to the investigation cannot be shared as this matter is related to the security of the country.

Hardik had revealed during the remand that Zeeshan Akhtar had targeted him. He got a link from an Instagram. He himself was surprised that a person wearing an army uniform trained him online. Holding a grenade in his hand, he explained how to remove the pin and how to throw it. Hardik had revealed that the person who trained him had told him that he was from the army and would never give wrong training. After the soldier’s name came to light, he was named in the case. Links were found in Hardik’s mobile.
