Chandigarh: Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former IAS officer Dr Jagmohan Singh Raju launched a fresh attack on the Punjab government and demanded the resignation from CM Bhagwant Mann if he is not able to act. Jagmohan Singh Raju slammed the Punjab government for its negligence and inaction in getting Chandigarh back.
Jagamohan Singh Raju wrote a letter in which he highlighted how Congress took Chandigarh back in 1966. He said, “To retrieve our Chandigarh, we the proud people of Punjab, had launched a united peaceful struggle. The Congress Party and Governments tried to crush our struggle with disproportionate brutality. Because of the tyranny of Congress Party, thousands of Punjabis were incarcerated, and hundreds of youths lost their lives since 1966. Woefully, Sutlej and Beas became red with their blood, but Congress remained adamant.”
Attacking on Punjab Government, Raju said that an RTI disclosed that no step has been taken to get Chandigarh back to Punjab and zero follow up has been made in the matter. He also highlighted the recent allotment of land to Haryana for making its new assembly in Chandigarh.
Raju stressed that it should be doubly ensured that Chandigarh’s land is not allotted to other States in large parcels.
