Ludhiana: Ludhiana west seat fell vacant following the death of MLA Gurpreet Gogi, and by elections for the constituency are expected to be announced soon. Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Rajya Sabha member Sanjeev Arora in this election. Former cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu is contesting from Congress. SAD has not yet announced its candidate. Meanwhile, discussions have started on the name of Pollywood actor and BJP leader Kamaldeep Singh alias Hobby Dhaliwal from BJP side.
The actor had campaigned in favour of Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu during the Lok Sabha elections. Hobby Dhaliwal is an active leader in the BJP. Recently, Dhaliwal has also met West seat election observer Narinder Singh Raina.
Kamaldeep Singh said in a conversation with the media that he has expressed his claim to contest the elections. If the party gives him a ticket, he will definitely contest the elections. According to Dhaliwal, he is ready to contest from wherever the party asks him to contest in the country.
Who is Hobby Dhaliwal?
Kamaldeep Singh Hobby Dhaliwal is also an actor and politician. He started his career in 2012 with the debut film Burraah. Angrez (2015), Lahoriye (2017) and Ardaas Karaan (2019).
Hobby was born in Sangrur, Punjab, India. He studied in a government school in Patiala and graduated from Government Mohindra College, Patiala, Punjab. Hobby Dhaliwal is married to fashion designer Lily Dhaliwal. Hobby has two children.
