Ludhiana : During the wedding ceremony of son of Aam Aadmi Party MLA Jeevan Singh Sangowal, some persons armed with sharp weapons attacked the Aam Aadmi Party Block President Sahibjit Singh alias Sabi from Jarkhar who came to attend the wedding.
The accused took off Sabi’s turban and attacked him with sharp weapons and made him bleed.
In this case, police registered a case against Charanjit Singh, a resident of village Bulara and ten unidentified persons and arrested five persons. Police lodged an attempt to murder case against these people.
The arrested accused have been identified as former sarpanch and senior AAP leader Charanjit Singh, his son Binni, who is district secretary of AAP.
The condition of Sarabjit Singh Sabi is stated to be serious.
Injured Mandeep Singh stated that a pre-wedding function, ‘jago’ of the son of the MLA was on at his residence at Sangowal village. This incident happens when Sabi left the program and went into the street, Charanjit Singh and about ten other persons surrounded him. The accused armed with sharp weapons started shouting and took off Sabi’s turban. He said When he tried to intervene, the accused assaulted him too.
The attackers attacked Sabi, beaten him with weapons. Due to severe injuries on the head and other parts of the body, Sabi fell on the ground in a pool of blood
Sabi is admitted to the hospital in a state of unconsciousness. The Sadar Police Station says that on the complaint of Mandeep Singh, five accused have been arrested after registering a case under premeditated murder and other felonious sections.
