Blow to trans-border smuggling: Amritsar Police seize 1 kg ice, heroin each; 3 accused arrested

DGP Yadav further added that three persons have been apprehended in this crackdown.

Chandigarh: In a major breakthrough against the trans-border narcotic smuggling network, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police seized Methamphetamine and heroin along with the arrest of three persons. The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav on his X handle. 

Sharing details of seizure, Amritsar Commissionerate Police recovered 1 Kg Ice drug (Methamphetamine) and 1 Kg heroin. DGP Yadav further added that three persons have been apprehended in this crackdown.


Out of three arrested, one accused Karandeep was earlier living in Dubai, and Moscow. He also had connections with Pakistan based smugglers. DGP Yadav further added that Karandeep was also in touch with foreign-based gangster Gurdev alias Jaisal.

Accused used to use drones fro the smuggling and transportation of drugs from Pakistan. Police added that FIR under the NDPS act has been registered at PS Airport. Further investigation is on by Police to establish backward and forward linkages.
