Chandigarh: The Punjab government’s Mission Investment has got a big success. Today Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann chaired a meeting with officials of automobile giant BMW and it was decided that now BMW spare parts will be made in Punjab. The company has decided to set up a plant in Punjab. The plant will be set up by the company in Mandi Gobindgarh. The inauguration of the plant will be done by CM Bhagwant next month. This will employ thousands of youth.
BMW company officials reached Punjab today. During this, the CM and the officials had a meeting with the company representatives. The CM has promised to give full support to the company. It was also decided that the company will start the work of its plant next month. The CM will lay the foundation stone of the project. Earlier last year, the CM had visited Germany. The company was also invited to invest in Punjab.
In a post on X, CM Mann while sharing the pictures from the meeting said, “Today, an important meeting was held with officials to discuss investing in BMW vehicle parts manufacturing in Punjab. It was decided to establish a BMW parts manufacturing plant in Mandi Gobindgarh, where hundreds of crores will be invested, creating thousands of jobs for the youth. I will commence this project next month. They expressed appreciation for Punjab’s pro-investment policies. We are continuously moving forward with our commitment to building a Rangla Punjab.”

With the establishment of this company, the state government will get revenue of crores of rupees every year. At the same time, the company officials said that 700 people would be given employment at the plant. The company will provide indirect employment to five hundred people inside the plant and 200 people outside. From identifying the place for the plant to other works, everything has been completed by the company. This is the first plant of its kind in North India.
