There was a stir at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport in Chandigarh after a bomb threat was received on an IndiGo flight. This flight had come to Chandigarh from Hyderabad. Security agencies were immediately informed about the threat slip found in the toilet of the flight. However, by then, all 227 passengers had disembarked. Security agencies investigated the flight, but nothing was found in it.
Case registered against unknown people
A case has been registered against unknown people in the airport police station in this regard. Police have registered a case under sections 351 (criminal threat), 324 (5) (mischief causing loss of lakhs), 217 (false complaint) of the Indian Penal Code and the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against Civil Aviation Security Act, 1982.
Security manager of Inter Globe Aviation Limited Manmohan Singh, said in his complaint that this incident occurred on July 5. The IndiGo flight that had come to Chandigarh from Hyderabad landed at Mohali International Airport at 11:58 am.
All passengers were disembarked. When the plane was being cleaned, a slip was found in the toilet. It was written on it that there is a bomb in the flight.The threat was written in English.
Nothing found in search
Security agencies later conducted a thorough search of the flight but found nothing suspicious.
In connection with the incident, a case has been registered against unknown individuals at the airport police station. The police have filed the case under sections 351 (criminal intimidation), 324(5) (mischief causing damage worth lakhs), 217 (false complaint) of the Indian Penal Code, and provisions of the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against Safety of Civil Aviation Act, 1982.
